Seven Quick Takes

1. This wildflower is quite the charmer. I first saw this flowering plant at a house
near ours, I asked for a pair, and after a few months, there's a wildflower jungle in
my backyard! I also have these ravishing beauties in pink, and they have this simple,
somewhat cute, and delightful smell ;)

Bonjour mesdames. Update.

In the past months the fires are really big and très dangereux. I am always praying for him and because he always forgets to bring his gloves.

And one time, an elderly man they aided died and it was a first for him. :( But he wasn't traumatized. And they often have motorcycle accidents and one particular day, three drunk men are in a motorcycle and they plunged and they were all in a terrible state which the details are so appalling I will not say it to you.

Salut Madames !

So yesterday my husband came back home. H e said just three or four blocks away there was a man who was acting crazy. The EMS crew were out that moment so the firefighters accommodated the man. When they were about to put him in the stretcher the man refused and the ambulance came and he kept refusing. Reluctantly, the man was brought to the hospital. Then his wife came and when talking to his wife, he was just normal, but when the police and the firefighters were looking at him he acts like a man experiencing a stroke or...

Later, they got stories, and, turns out, the man actually stabbed his niece and now hiding for committed homicide or..

Any idea what to have for dinner? I think I'll chose some of..

Escargots Bourguignon
Bruschetta de Flageolets
Salade Douce et Amère
Poulet à la Provençale
Filet de Boeuf Sauce au Poivre
Filet de Boeuf aux Morilles

Bonjour, mes amis!

I have been gone a while here. I could not find time and words to give. Really now I really have been just lazy.

In the past two months, my husband have been just at home, the police department had a basketball match and the fire department had one team as guest and my husband is on that team. Sadly they didn't won but they were fourth place!

This week he starts his duty as part of the new SRU (Special Rescue Unit). His shifts are still twenty four hour duty but longer from nine am to nine am. Though I am happy for him, I am also worried. They will respond to a lot more dangerous...

Of course I am always praying for him but really I am longer with my prayers now.

How have you been my friends? I just love this picture of a sailor coming home from the war.

My Hero

I was all by myself at home last night my husband was on duty. It was very late and we were still on the phone when I heard someone at the gate. At first I thought it was the neighbor's house but when I listened, I heard boys talking horrendously. Then I told my husband but I wasn't worried or scared and it was nothing serious but then he said that he will come right then! I thought he was joking and then I called the fire station and indeed they said he's on his way. The station is about an hour drive and he still did it... I love being a firefighter's wife ;)

When he came he said he was worried and he even called some town officers.
I love him so much I'm so lucky to have him.
My hero. I love you baby.

So my husband got chosen to be in the new SRU (Special Rescue Team). The word "Special", at first it sounds real bon. Being chosen to be in a"Special Team" seems so nice right? But in the case of a firefighter's wife, well, for me, it is both nice and bad?

I am so proud of him because he was chosen and were handpicked by some officers but for me it means they've chosen him to be in more danger. Now my worries will be a million times greater than before. And he will be re-stationed at a farther place.

Have a great weekend!

Amour

Its almost two months since my dear Maman passed away. She is never forgotten and there is never a day that passed without me thinking of her.

I remember the
hôpital visits and the nights I've spent there. I remember when I gave her a bed bath, I actually enjoyed doing it because the first time I ever did it was when I had my demonstration and it was horrible. And I would want to bathe her for as long as she lives but now she's gone. And when I go into her room and she sees me, she would smile. She once told me in the hôpital that when she knows, I'm in the hôpital, she feels at ease. But all I ever want to do when I'm in the hôpital is to go home. That was ma plus grande erreur.

Now, when I wake up in the morning, there'll be no one goi
ng into my room smiling and calling me bébé, or lying in my bed with me, or asking what I want for déjeuner.

There are also some things that I regret super. Sometimes she would ask me so little favors to give her a back rub, and things like that, but
J'étais trop stupide not to do so, instead, I would say mmmmh in a way that means no. I wish I did everything for her. I wish I did every chores in the house and just make her sit and watch TV. I know I'm a bad daughter.
Je vous manque tellement maman.

So my advice for all of you is to show your parents or to everyone you love that you love them. Do things that would make them smile not make their eyebrows meet. Do things that you din't usually do for them, or if its out of your way, still do it for them.

My other life however is going real good. My husband comes home often now and we went to
église yesterday and spent a great time at the restaurant after, I ended up red for laughing! And did some crazy and funny things at home. Je l'aime tellement.. And tomorrow he'll go to the station again... And I'll miss him again.

Great American Heroes

I came across the story: September 11, 2001 about the 9/11 shared by Tom Dunn, FDNY Firefighter

C'est tragique. I can't seem to find the words to say. After I finished reading I was static.

He was very brave he even wanted to go up the tower. And really really lucky to have survived.
The 9/11 is never forgotten and all the firefighters and the police and everyone there.

Watch this beautiful firefighter tribute

Close Call

During the holidays, there were many fire accidents. And sometimes my husband and his fellow firefighters had three fires in one day (Ok I know for some three is just a little number, but for me, oh no thats too many).

I don't remember when last month that they had a call but they had to refill the water in the truck. I don't really understand the story but, when they got to the burning house, the other firefighters went to fill the tank leaving only my husband and the truck driver.

Of course the truck driver can't help him, so he ran towards the burning house. And my brave husband fought the fire all by himself. I remember he sent me a message at 9 or 10 in the evening that day saying there was a fire (he always texts me if they're going to a respond). And they got back at the fire station at 3 am. Because he was the only one there. What took the other FFs so long????

The owner of the house even got angry and shouted at my husband to get up there and put out the fire. So he climbed up the wall, which was almost too soft because of the fire and he almost fell at like 50 ft on the ground!

I almost cried when he came home and told me. And I said don't want him to climb a wall ever again. And don't ever run toward a burning house all by himself.

At times like these, I wish he never became a firefighter. I want him just by my side, where he's safe.

Starter firefireghter's wife

My boyfriend finally graduated garduated from fire academy! I am so happy and proud of him. The only downside is.. He's always away. Most of the times his shifts are 24 hours. And last week, a firefighter died and he's gone for the whole week.

The other night I was so lonely. I really miss him. I tried doing some other things, finishing a novel I've been working on but not a single word came out. I don't want want to go out or with friends anyway. When my husband was still on training, I've been reading blogs by firefighter's wives and they write about the same things. That their husbands are always away. And now, I know it.

I understand it. I really do. Its just that miss him like crazy. I'll get through this. And I'm just starting anyway. I'm just not used that he's always gone and not at home at night.

Becoming a firefighter is a calling. And, these wonderful women taught me that being a firefighter's wife is also a calling. Yes, I may be worried about him day and night. But I have to be tough.
